Looking Around, and Around, and Around

Better vs Worse

Smart vs Dumb

Successful vs Failure

Comparisons… they are simple to note, effortless to state, easy to make as a habit.

We all make comparisons – my child is better than yours, my spouse is more accomplished than yours, and my house is bigger than yours. Come on; let’s not be so foolish. At some point, we can be on the receiving end of such comparisons as well.

Problem – there will always be someone smarter and more successful than me…but that doesn’t mean the Dose is a dumb failure. NO! And certainly, I trump someone else in the mind and results departments. But that comparison is just as meaningless.

Solution – keep the comparisons equal by having a common denominator. In other words, the Dose needs to compare myself today with myself from yesterday. I’m the common denominator and time is the only variable when the comparison meter is running.

Stop looking around – start looking within. Take out the yardstick and measure the difference within yourself… it’s the true comparison.
