Between 1993 and 1995 I worked with Cathy, my real estate agent, as I changed houses. It was two long years of showing my house and bidding on others. This whole process was extremely emotionally draining, but the word “we” provided me unexpected comfort. Cathy would call me up to inform me that “we” didn’t win the bid …”we” didn’t have anyone at the open house.
Being single and dealing with life challenges can be scary … Cathy figuratively stepped into the situation with me with such a seemingly insignificant gesture.
