Nik Wallenda–daredevil, trapeze artist, the man who went across Niagara Falls on a tightrope to inspire others to live their dreams. Since the age of six, this was his dream, a big one no one can argue. And decades later he made it happen.
As a child, having such a dream would only be considered as such–a dream. Imagine Nik telling his friends even five years ago of such a dream? The Dose can hear the responses: “Who do you think you are to accomplish such a feat?” “What are you thinking, it’s never been done before?” “Where are you going to get the funds?” “When? How?” and the last comment, said with an explicit laugh, giggle, or chuckle, “Good luck with that!”
Thank you, Mr. Wallenda, for following your heart’s desire, for doing the necessary training, and most importantly for not listening to the naysayers. You have inspired not only me but hopefully many others as well.
Thanks to Nik, the Dose has a new saying–“walk the tightrope.” Translation: dare to live your dreams.
