It is said that one is either cat person or a dog person. Not sure where the goldfish and parrots fit in.
The Dose grew up with a dog and, as a child, noted the outcome of a Siamese cat’s claws on my neighbor’s leg. Need I say, count me in as only a dog person.
Playing with my little Schnauzer, I was fascinated by his behavior to hang onto the toy bone in his mouth for dear life.
Little did he know that if he gave it up, he would have more fun as the game of throw and catch would have gone on indefinitely!
Ever had a figurative bone in your possession?
The Dose has… a bone that showed up as an obsession.
Many times, that obsession was about me proving a point. I couldn’t let go until the person agreed with me!
This behavior finally got the best of me when I realized my obsession was not welcomed by those around me. This figurative bone-in-mouth had to be dropped… how else would others want to hang around me?
Just like my dog dropping his bone for endless play, letting go of selfish obsessions is the best assurance for ongoing relationships!
