Some call it suitcases… others, baggage!

I recall the time when hard-case, non-wheeled, couldn’t-be-heavier suitcases were a thing.

Today we use luggage on wheels, packs on the back, and the personal item bag across our body or around our waist.

Whichever container you use, there are things within.

Same holds true with our so-called emotional baggage. The bags that hold our feelings, emotions, and grudges tend to be held on to for dear life… a form of dependency. We’re inclined to never hold them loosey, put them down, or deal with the secrets within. They are ours and usually only ours… not to be shared.

At a time in my life, the Dose carried a suitcase full of misconstrued thoughts about me. Thoughts that I was never, let’s just say, good enough. I played the role of a good prosecutor, confirming my worth in life, despite the defense attorneys (friends and family) telling me otherwise.

Over time, these concocted feelings got me frustrated!

So, through self-reflection and conversations, the content of that large bag started to shrink… deflating to the point where I could change out the bag for a coin purse.

We all carry some form of emotional baggage…do what it takes to lessen the contents down to pouch-size. Your head… and “back” will thank you!
