Growing up in a small town, I frequented the community pool.
This pool was divided into two sides. One side had only a few feet of water, the other side was deeper and complete with a diving board. My childhood summertime goal was to swim in that deep side of the pool. This required passing a swim test!
Test Attempt #1: I could barely swim the periphery of the pool. Outcome: Flunked.
Test Attempt #2: I swam the periphery of the pool… but stood scared, “frozen” on the diving board. Outcome: Flunked.
We have all heard the saying – “Try, try again.” Well apparently, I did try twice but never went back “in” for try #3.
Today, as I challenge myself through growing the Dose of Donna social media platform, I find myself wondering how much more could I be doing on Instagram, X, and TikTok? (Yes, this is a shameless plug!)
Do I quit on that proverbial second try? Could my hesitations be related to fear, failure, or frustration?
As we face each day with challenges, at what point do we give up… if at all?
What if the “third time” really is the charm?
Let’s not sit on the edge of the pool… Let’s dive in and find out. Regret not!

So well said. The pool metaphor is very clever and relatable.
Thank you Bob!
The third time is a charm! Never give up!
