Password was a game show on television. Back then it was so popular that a home version was created… and owned by my family!
One game that the Dose now frequently plays is the “What if” game.
This game identifies a situation, lists out all the events that could happen, namely the “What ifs,” and ends once the solutions are determined!
Here is a frequent situation where I play this game.
Situation: Traveling to a foreign land
The What ifs?
- Connecting flight is missed
- Luggage and/or purse is stolen or lost
- Mobile phone is lost or non-functioning
My solutions are interesting, ranging from the most logical and realistic to leaning more on the cataclysmic side!
Case-in-point:
- Missing flight = catch the next flight
- Stolen/lost items = replace critical items
- Mobile phone issues = end trip as how I can live without a phone?!
Catastrophes do happen, but not always. Thinking of them only leads to continuous worry.
The Dose needs to stop this madness… otherwise, how can I tell other catastrophic-minded folks to do the same?

Our family played Password often.
Hi Glenda – we loved Password too… the best was when Betty White and her husband Allen Ludden were on the show together!
