Third grade. A formative year. A year I remember well… unfortunately for sad reasons. It was the year I was placed in the low-end reading group. The Dose was branded… was it for life?
Through the years, this type of branding has a way of appearing from time to time.
And when it does, my mind has a habit of bringing me back to that third-grade classroom… which then leads to a smile on my face!
You see, though branded as a poor reader, the Dose has persevered through that label with each book I have read. I’m not a slow reader, neither do I lack comprehension of content. My two diplomas tell me so!
Today I find myself in a similar situation. The Dose is the last person on the leaderboard of my spin class. There is an option to opt out of having our names displayed, yet I choose to list my name prominently on that screen.
Why? Well, for starters, I’m on the board… even at the early hour of 5:30am!! I want my name on the board knowing that, like reading a book, the Dose will persevere through.
Ever been misbranded? Rebrand!

I love the idea of “being on the board!” It’s also being onboard with life!
We can’t all be 1st in everything in fact that’s bad for our mental health.
Embrace being bottom! And enjoying staying there.
