People have said that the Dose is a bit old-fashioned in my thinking and ways. To which I’ll agree.
I grew up learning and practicing manners. Give respect to my elders. Cover my mouth when yawning. No elbows on table. And the list goes on…
In those formative years, my parents also taught me all other facets of life.
Though it wasn’t easy for me to grasp and execute, now I see that their mindset of morals and values were important enough to impart. For which I’ll be forever grateful.
With every new day and age, things change. And sometimes the change, just like fashion, circles back to the “old” style and ways! I’m hoping this follows suit with the use of old-school proper English! (Not that I don’t commit a faux pas grammatical error periodically!)
Whether it is an older way of doing something or a newer way… the bigger question at play is – does it respect others as well as us?
Unfortunately, the phrase “old-fashioned” conjures up all sorts of images – old, foggy, out-of-date, antiquated, etc.
Regardless, I’m happy to be set apart as being “old-fashioned,” though I’m thinking of a rephrase to “timelessly-fashionable!”
