Be Smart – ASK

We both wanted the same thing… my purse. Looking at him you wouldn’t expect him to want a woman’s bag, but then again, what should a mugger look like?

If the Dose had only known that busy main street Baltimore was a scene for a crime, I would have placed my handbag over my shoulder. People were walking to and fro, and cops were directing traffic. Swinging my bag with the rhythm of my walk amongst the crowd of people, it all seemed as safe as the streets of Disney.

Then the war began, the tug of war. A man came up from behind me and attempted to grab my bag. Our wills were equally matched, but our size and strength were not. Once the Dose recognized that, I did the only thing he wouldn’t do – I yelled for help!

Asking for help was the one action that kept me from bodily harm, allowing me to keep my purse and showing me the kindness of strangers.

Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness… it’s what smart people do when in need!
