BFF – LOL– BB – BTW – OMG

Whatever the abbreviation, acronym, or initials, we all seem to be “short-talking.”

As the Dose attempts to get into this type of communication, I’m noting a steep and never-ending learning curve. Though I like typing in short-talk, speaking in this new language slows me down, both as the deliverer and the receiver. TMT (too much thinking)!

Known as the communicator extraordinaire with a specialty in creativity, the Dose knows all too well that each of us has a style, a preference that we embrace. Neither the form, nor the style, nor the manner in which messages are expressed are as critical as the message itself.

And with all that  written, let us not forget our basic form of communication – the Dose favorite – talking… especially talking to someone in person. This approach seems to be lost in our cyber world, yet it provides more than just words. Eye contact, body language, and facial expressions can never be captured precisely in text or on the phone.

So whether you are short-talking or talking in “long hand,” be personable and periodically make your point in person.
