con·fi·dence

Having confidence…

  • Gives freedom to be oneself
  • Provides possibilities and opportunities
  • Ignores condescending statements
  • Rejects lies, both from others and self
  • Is more attractive than any outward appearance

How does the Dose know this? I watch human behavior, starting with my own!

There was a time when children would continuously ask their mothers “Why” questions, in particular, “Why do I have to do this or that?” to which the mother’s response would be, “Because I said so.” That was a full stop, period statement said to me while I was growing up.

My mother had full confidence in her directions, decisions, and disciplines.

Today, I’m learning that having confidence in myself negates the need for explanations for the way I live my life. My responses typically reflect the confidence I have in what I like and don’t like.

I’m a bit disturbed when people feel the need to respond to a “Why” question with a string of rationales.

Their explanations sound like they are convincing themselves of decisions already made.

Confidence… a trust and belief in oneself that is available to everyone and anyone.

Are you confident in yourself? If not, rationalize why not, then take corrective action to set yourself free!

  1. Thanks, Jean… I love that dress and can’t believe it held up for so many decades!! My mother’s craftsmanship was outstanding.
