Valentine’s Day was created to set apart a day to express love to a significant other. Many consider this a holiday designed for card makers, chocolatiers, and florists… restaurateurs as well!
Galantine’s Day was designed for women to celebrate other women in their lives.
The Dose believes noteworthy relationships, both male and female, need to be recognized and acknowledged, whatever the connection and whenever the day.
I love those in my life. Most are married. Many are young. Some are local. And not all are women.
The ones that astonish me the most are those at a different stage or station in life than me.
Today I have been befriended by these outliers. Each one has allowed me to enter into their lives, as they embrace and accept this unique friendship. For some of them, I am considered their big sister, yet I’m old enough to be their mother!
Though they do not know each other, they are alike – open to learning, aiming for personal growth, and reaching out to me on a whim. No formality needed to interact with these loving people!
Love is expressed in different ways… being recognized and acknowledged is just one of them.
