In the Blink of an Eye

Twice baked potatoes, double-mint gum, and two shots of whatever. Let’s face it – in these cases, one may not suffice. So why give one chance only?

First impressions are memorable. I can remember my first thoughts regarding many people I’ve met. Author Malcolm Gladwell believes we can make assumptions about people in the blink of an eye. But wait… the Dose has also made some pretty bad first impressions… Am I not redeemable?

Let’s face it, we all make blunders, saying the wrong thing, doing the wrong thing… should that permanently determine our branding?

Second chances do happen.

The Dose has sometimes benefited from another shot to display my real self, and I too have extended this grace to others. Giving some people another chance can be more happenstance than deliberate, as long as I keep an open mind, of course!

One blink can give you a perspective, but two blinks may be necessary to confirm or re-evaluate the first impression.

Keep blinking… it just may stimulate others to do the same, giving you your much needed second chance!
