Joy on High from Within

It has been proven that social media use leads to hits of dopamine… that neurotransmitter associated with pleasure and reward. This is according to none other than AI!

Who doesn’t want a so-called high… but must we always be consuming the social networks to experience such joy?

Where and how else can joy be experienced? Back to AI for further research!

And, to no surprise, my investigation uncovered that extending oneself to help another releases that dopamine and then some – namely, the feel-good hormones serotonin and oxytocin!

It is no wonder that every time the Dose helps a fellow human being, my being reaps what money can’t buy…the joy within!

In the current world where anything material is within your reach through a click, and where physical help is easily hired, I’m finding that people are reluctant to ask for help… or even accept it without pay or at least payback!

This is understandable, as we live in a transactional state of mind.

In this joy-filled season, don’t deny your family and friends of joy – allow them to do for you while their happy hormones are soaring!

  1. One should always have a good feeling when helping others out. This is just the right season to enjoy that feeling.
