Ode to Mrs. Jack

Mrs. Jack was a socialite who loved art. Her passion was so strong in the arts that she created a palace to share her treasures with the public. This place is none other than the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.

Those who have experienced the wonders of this museum can attest to the magnificent works of art that hang on the walls and for the atrium full of flowers and trees, fountains and statues.

Simply breathtaking.

What this woman did was amazing… not just in her ability to design such a palace or her expertise in curating such a collection of fine arts, but in her willingness to share with the world her most prized possessions despite the associated risks.

Though most of us don’t have material treasures to share, providing compassion to others is a treasured attribute. Similar to the curated art in a museum, compassion has the ability to bring joy to all who seek it out.

Mrs. Jack didn’t need to share her artwork, but she did. With her passion on display, she reached out to touch others. Would you do the same to touch others with your compassion?
