There he was sitting in a high chair awaiting the song to be over to eat cake. My nephew’s little boy (my great nephew) – Nshaun – was turning one. To celebrate this milestone, balloons were prominently placed in his sight. Nshaun enjoyed the cake, but it was the big Mylar elephant balloon that captured his attention. A balloon… that’s what he was in awe of.
It got the Dose thinking… what I am in awe of these days?
It wasn’t too long after this birthday party that I looked at a rainbow in the sky with a different eye. The Dose was in total awe of something I’ve seen many times. Think about a rainbow. Beautifully colored ribbons in the sky that come out after the rain as a gift with a bow – hence the name – Rainbow! That’s the awe – not only the beauty of it but the meaning of the name.
Thanks to a one-year-old child I started looking around with new eyes. Go ahead – look with my eyes… be in awe… life is beautiful!
