The Dose was the youngest in a family of five… dad, mom, and three girls four years apart in age.
The oldest sister grew up to be a successful Kindergarten teacher and the middle sister a successful elementary art teacher.
Growing up, I looked to the eldest in seeking her assessment and approval. As my parents taught us to appreciate the arts – music, museums and Monet, to name a few – little me took to coloring and crafts.
With each art project, I looked for the rating of my work. In comparison to my artist sister, I can confess to the disasters I created back then. Glue seeping out of misaligned popsicle sticks and coloring outside the lines was my forte back then… and remains somewhat today as well!
As I eagerly waited for the ruling… my elder sister came back with the most profound response – “That’s good for your age.”
This sister got it right. A fair conclusion based on an objective measure.
That six-worded statement has carried through over the decades as this sister continues to impart this response… all to provide me with a smile, a laugh, and sweet flash back to days gone by.

The Goolkasian sisters have always shown a lot of love and respect for each other. As the years have gone by they have never forgotten how important it is to have a wonderful and caring family relationship.
Thank you… I do have a lovely family of two caring sisters!
