Who decided that love comes from the heart? Could it be because, ultimately, the heart keeps us alive? We were created by love, for love…that only a beating heart can give.
Love comes in many flavors – true, real, and tough, just to name a few.
The Dose has experienced such love. Real love from my mother. Tough love from my father. And true love from my sweetheart Paul.
All these forms of love boiled down to one commonality – the love they showed me focused on my best interest. These three people in my life cared, taught, and developed me until their untimely deaths.
The self-less love from my parents modeled kindness and self-care. My relationship with Paul gave me the opportunity to put love to the test… putting his needs before mine and trusting he would do the same.
Love is a word that is best described by its action. In the rawest form, love reflects putting others ahead of ourselves.
Can you imagine a world where everyone loved each other in such a manner? Ultimately, we would all get our needs meet in the most wonderful of ways!
