A Control Freak is a person who feels an obsessive need to exercise control over themselves and others and to take command of any situation.
Sure, the Dose takes control over certain situations. Taking control when leading projects and programs… but empowering capable folks to be on point. Taking control of household responsibilities… but outsourcing tasks that require professionals. The Dose is not into directing activities I know nothing about!
My directorship is also placed aside in foreign lands when I rely on native guides to show me their world. No control for me!
As for controlling people… I now understand that people need to be themselves and not a replica of me. No controlling here!
Wherever one is on the spectrum of controlling circumstances and/or people, there appears to be one situation when the Freak shows up… it’s when all control is lost.
This was noted when the Dose was laid up due to surgeries. Lacking all control over my recuperation, I just had to control how the minutest of tasks were accomplished by my sweet friends who came to aid at my couch-side!
Controlling behaviors happen… tame the beast – keep it under control!
