Refurbish. Replace. Reposition.

The old leather recliner.

The fuzzy slippers that have lost their fuzz.

The dead-end job.

All three provide complete comfort… yet are minutes from causing you harm.

The chair will break while you are in it, the slippers will unravel as you walk down stairs, and that job… that dead-end job will deaden your mind.

Trust me, there are many “old” things that the Dose loves to keep and use, but all with a keen sense of false security. I have learned that nothing is secure, stable, or forever. The chair needs to be refurbished, the slippers need to be replaced, and the mind must work!

Changing out the old for the new takes on a whole new challenge.  We know when to replace our technology devices. But when it comes to jobs… how do we know it’s time to leave?

Decades ago, I was in a dead-end job. But I knew change had to be made to save my mind! There would be no professional growth for the Dose without a residential move. As relocating was not an option, I had to venture out into the unknown!

Leaving that cushy job was fraught with struggles as the known is always seemingly better than the unknown.

Fast forward decades later, that long-sighted decision I made paid off – both literally and figuratively.

Refurbish. Replace. Reposition.

  1. Clever and inspiring. Fears of change need to be replaced too. Thanks for encouraging me to look at things with new eyes and thoughts of new possibilities.
